About the Home

Azalea Adult Family Home provides a warm, loving and caring environment for our elderly residents. We treat each one like our own family member and we do things together such as going to parks, eating out or simply going to Dairy Queen for an afternoon treat. Our residents look forward to these special outings, so we make an effort to bring everyone, despite the difficulties in moving someone who can hardly walk.

One day, the group decided by popular vote to dine at Salty's in Alki for a pre-mother's day celebration. Our staff spent more than an hour to get each one into the restaurant and another hour to get them out. Despite the challenges, we tried our best to work it out, to provide lasting memories that we can all cherish.

When weather permits, our staff takes residents out for a walk to the park near the home. Within six months, one resident who was on hospice, went off hospice and became very independent which enabled her to live with minimal assistance.

We are blessed to enjoy the company of our first resident who has been with us since we opened in 2004.

Our list of services is sometimes just a list because you could never list everything that you do for your family members. Like all families, we sit down and talk about issues that matter to all of us.

We accept all levels of care, including but not limited to residents with dementia, stroke, diabetes, cardiac conditions, post-surgical complications and hospice needs.

Fostering independence and living a superior quality of life are some of the goals in managing care for our elderly.

We respect the rights and dignity of our residents and caregivers.
